Health and Nutrition

Babies born with avoidable birth defects, children with diminished learning capabilities and adults with vision problems . . . these are all avoidable.

Humanitarian assistance sets the foundation for a spiritual experience

While Cuba has excellent doctors and medical technicians, there is a critical and chronic lack of life-saving and maintenance pharmaceuticals. This situation also exists in Haiti but is further complicated by the lack of a basic medical infrastructure.

Problems associated with poor prenatal care in Haiti include learning disabilities, low birth weight, and birth defects such as spina-bifida. Lack of mental development lasts a lifetime. Prenatal vitamins are a simple solution to avoid this tragedy. In certain areas, without Living in Faith, this prenatal care is just not available.

In Cuba, parents are brought forward during church services and given a supply of vitamins as a gift. They realize this is a gift from the Lord, and many times have shed tears of gratitude. Once again, without Living in Faith, these vitamins could not be obtained.

What We Do

Living in Faith seeks to eliminate the root causes of these socio-economic tragedies through:

  • Pre-natal vitamins

  • Children's vitamins

  • Children's feeding programs

  • Vitamin A for vision care

  • Clinic equipment, supplies, and medicines

Living in Faith brings hope by addressing these essential needs.

Treating the symptoms does not solve the problem. The long-term solution is getting at the root cause.
