Vision Care

Vision . . . there is no greater fundamental human need

Providing adequate vision care is one of the cornerstones of Living in Faith's ministry. Since 1995 we have conducted eye exams and distributed over 20,000 pairs of glasses to the needy in Cuba and Haiti.
For many, Living in Faith is the only access to eye care they have. The availability of eye care and corrective lenses can be extremely limited and in many cases totally unavailable. As a result, many people in need of vision correction lead marginalized lives. They are unfortunate victims of a situation they cannot control.
If you would like to sponsor eyeglasses for those in need, please visit our donations page. Your donation makes it possible for someone to not only improve their current situation, but also to read the word of God!
Matthew 15:30-31
Great crowds came to him, bringing the lame, the blind, the crippled, the mute and many others, and laid them at his feet; and he healed them. The people were amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled made well, the lame walking and the blind seeing. And they praised the God of Israel.

How It Works

eye exam
Living in Faith can typically conduct 28 refracting exams per 10-hour day, or over 140 exams in a 5-day week. Often, at the end of an examination day in Haiti, there are twice as many people waiting in line as have been seen.
Approximately one-third of the corrective lenses distributed by Living in Faith are provided through donationed recycled inventory. The remaining prescriptions are filled through one of our donation partners, at cost.
